Hi Ralph... I'm always all about desserts. I live with the philosophy that because life is short we should eat dessert first! :))))

Hi Ralph,
Jalapeno Poppers sound good, but I'd not expect them as a side dish on Thanksgiving. My favorite side dish is a nice 3-berry Jello salad with cranberries, oranges, and raspberries. I also love the Yam casserole I make. Mashed potatoes and gravy are everyone's favorites. I do eat the turkey or ham too.

The green vegetable, not really.  Pistachio fluff with pineapple, marshmallows and just goodness we only do for holidays.

We have a family who only eats vegan but doesn't want us to make anything special for him this year and he's all in on the Thanksgiving menu at our home!

My focus is on the desserts. My favorite would be a slice of cherry pie but that is not usually available. So, I will enjoy what is served.

Hello Ralph - in some circles, food - weather - real estate can be the source of conversation chatter.  As for me, it's almost a guarantee that I can show up with an appetite for anything that is being served.  On Thanksgiving or whenever it may occur.

Ralph, lots of favorite foods over the years (one of the perks from past business travel), and most involved dead animal flesh, so I'll skip those.  But among my favorites are my mom's desserts & Liz's cheesecakes, biscuits, fried potatoes, deviled eggs, pancakes with maple syrup from the farmer down the street, a good egg salad sandwich, all things I look forward to when the opportunity presents :)

Ralph, we will be eating a smoked turkey, candied yams, green bean bundles, of course dressing and rolls.   We have pecan pie for dessert --- YUM!   What are you doing for dessert?

Well, you are certainly a much better writer than I am since my totally mindless random thoughts would not come off as well as yours have, haha.

Ralph Gorgoglione - I'm not Italian, but coming from Chicago, Italian food was always my favorite! I don't eat meat either. Lately, I discovered if I buy a pre-maid pizza dough smothered in Sur la table Truffle Parmesan Drizzle Oil, covered in as many chopped up cloves of garlic the dough will hold, then top it with Mozzarella Cheese it makes the best pizza for me. Or if I want tomato sauce, I make the sauce and cover the garlic before the Mozzarella Cheese. Bon appetit!

Good morning Ralph. While I won't say I am a meat lover, meat is a part of my diet. That said, a favorite casserole of mine is made with cream corn, broccoli, cheddar cheese and a wisp of sugar. If that is on the table, my dead animal intake is sacrificed to make more room for it. Enjoy your day.

Random topics do well! My favorite non-meat dishes are things like eggplant or zucchini panini, wraps with artichokes/red onion/feta/arugula w/balsamic vinegar, pasta w/beans and veggies, black bean burgers, and more. However, the normal Thanksgiving side dishes like candied yams, green bean casseroles, mashed potatoes, etc. leave me underwhelmed!

Hmm favorite side dishes, homemade potato salad, homemade sweet and sour coleslaw, deviled eggs, baked sweet potatoes with maple syrup, walnuts and butter, corn pudding, Swedish rice pudding, green onion chip dip, just to name a few.

How did I miss your random post Ralph Gorgoglione ? I'm so glad Carol Williams featured your post as I'm playing catch up reading ones. I like jalapenos and jalapenos pop overs sound yummy! We had the traditional Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, gravy, green beans, apple, cherry and pumpkin pie!
