Be A Turkey, Get Eaten!

By

No amount of protesting by a turkey is going to keep it off my plate tomorrow. Lucky for me someone else beheaded and prepared the turkey for cooking for me. If I had raised the turkey myself I may have had difficulty chopping it's head off.

That being said, we have a lot of wild turkeys around Minot that I have often thought: "That one would look good on the table".

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Good morning, Bob... I feel the same way about chickens, ducks, etc. Happy to buy them at the grocery store ready for cooking.

Good morning (again) my Love Nina Hollander, Broker . Taking one step further sometimes Carol lets the grocery store do the cooking in their deli. Those rotisserie chickens are always great.

Bob "RealMan" Timm I've been known to buy a store-made rotisserie chicken now and then. But there's still nothing quite like a chicken roasted at home. (My husband's favorite meal.)

Good morning Bob. Yep, the easiest way to have turkey is to buy one at the store. We are prepared, the refrigerator is full and the kids and grandkids are here. The rest will be here tomorrow. Enjoy your turkey and fixings.

I'm pretty much banished from the kitchen Wayne Martin so the only clue I have about our dinner is that it was thawing out in the sink on Monday.

Hi Bob,
I have never looked at any living creature and thought they'd look good on my table. I don't have any problem buying meat in the store, though. I don't know how I would do if lost in the wilderness and had to do the killing for food.

I get that Carol Williams . I used to hunt but I never did the field dressing or preparation afterwards. I guess you and I would be vegetarians if we were on our own.

Because Minot has a lot of coulees running through it we have a lot of wildlife Roy Kelley . Driving through town it is not unusual to see deer and turkeys during any season and/or time of day.

Enjoy the wildlife.

The wildlife sightings in our urban area are limited. However, we have enough deer to eat our plants

I understand that Roy Kelley . We have to put up deer netting around our garden every year. I wish we could keep the squirrels out.
