In the 15 years since Small Business Saturday was first introduced by American Express during the Great Recession, approximately $201 billion has been spent in local businesses on Small Business Saturday. American Express has a stated goal of driving $100 billion in small business spending between 2021 and 2025.
- In 2023 alone, $17 billion were spent on Small Business Saturday.
