Monday Motivational Thoughts by John Wooden...

I need to add this to my reading list. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is a book that I should definitely consider having in my home since I have always been a fan of John Wooden.  I recently purchased the Marcus Aurelius book Meditations, so I am looking forward to reading that.

Most people seem to give more weight to criticism than praise, and that does them no good.

Endre, John Wooden's true greatness is his wisdom and ability to shape character! 

Those are truly wise words, and well worth reading multiple times not just twice. I never got to see him coaching but have heard a lot about him and stories about him too. He seems like a great person as a mentor and guide for life.

Endre, John Wooden received lots of both praise and criticism during his time, and in my opinion, he handled both in the graceful way he handled everything else.

Hi Endre- the key is we have control over how we respond to something and it is that act that determines who we are. 

Endre- John Wooden was an honorable man and coach; he had a long life.  He touched many with his famous quotes. I try to read anywhere from 10-20 books a year. This is one I plan to read. Thanks for sharing it with the AR community.  Have a terrific day. - Joe

I had to read these quotes several times and let the message sink in! John Wooden's true greatness is his wisdom and his ability to touch so many with is quotes. Thank you for sharing these ..good ones to reflect on.

This is one book I don't have. Over the years I have read many quotes by John Wooden and he provided incredible insight and wisdom.

This is a little bit of a different direction Endre.....not so much about me but rather another person.  I posted a very upbeat post and received a very 'odd' answer from someone I've known most of my life. I knew it was about him, and not me at all.  But I was concerned that something was not quite right with him in the moment....or who knows bigger than that.  I reached out, and he's chosen to be pretty much 'mum;s the word',  Which I respect.  I reached out to my brother to see if he knew what could be going on.  He had a pretty good idea.  We're both going to continue 'loving' him as much as he'll allow and if not, well, we'll still love him!  So that's way off the track but it's been on my mind for a day or so now....thanks for listening!
