Watch Your Mouth

Lucky Joe noticed something "weird" before sticking that candy cane in his mouth. There may be worse things then putting something into your mouth that a domesticated rodent had in their mouth but I wouldn't want to try it myself.

One of the most basic duties of a Real Estate agent is to determine if a home has/may have had lead based paint on/in it. Colorful paint chips may be a deadly hazard to infants and little children. Seeing a child eating paint chips may be (should be) more revolting than seeing them chew on a pet treat made for a rodent. This is a good time of year to remind parents of the danger of LBP as for years China used LBP on tree ornaments. This should be a time of joy, don't let it become a time of tragedy.

This is a good reminder to share. Many young people are not aware of the risks.

Lead Paint has been a huge misunderstanding.  Don't let your children chew on paint chips.  That simple. Have a super fantastic week!

I'm guessing a lot of young adults are clueless about LBP. When the renovate an old home and scrape off paint they may not even realize the danger they are exposing their infants/toddlers to.

Kids and dogs tend to put anything in their mouths.

Paint chips ... come on now parents.  This is a no-no.

This is a good reminder to be aware of toxins in the items we buy and ensure kids and pets do not eat them.

Kids and pets do put a lot of things in their mouths for sure Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist , especially colorful stuff. You have to wonder if some of today's young parents even know what LBP is.

This is the first time I've heard of LBP on ornaments from China, Bob. But I shouldn't be surprised. Fortunately, I've got no little kids to worry about and my pets don't touch me tree or ornaments.

Bob "RealMan" Timm even when I had real trees, my cats and dogs ignored them. I guess they knew I'd be unhappy with them if they didn't.

Nina Hollander, Broker I have also been lucky that none of my dogs ever bothered with the tree. Maybe because we use an artificial tree.

I grew up in a house built in 1905.  It was a lead-based paint extravaganza.

That was the norm back then Myrl Jeffcoat . I'm sure the first home I lived in that did NOT have LBP was in the 70's as my folks loved big old homes.

Good evening Bob,

This is a great reminder to share. The community I work in doesn't have to worry about lead base paint as homes are built in the 190's and above. But downtown in Austin many of the homes not renovated were built in the 50's and they definitely could have lead base paint!

Very few homes in Minot have LBP since the flood was hardest on the older homes in the valley Dorie Dillard Austin TX .

I think that I would be pretty disappointed if I was excited about having a candy cane only to find out that the stripes had already been licked off, haha.

Timmothy's strip gave me a chuckle Brian England even though the thought is kind of repulsive isn't it?
