Well it did not feel like Charlotte weather, but Annie and I had the opportunity to meet up with Debe Maxwell at Southern Pecan Gulf Coast Grill for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. Nina Hollander had a prior lunch engagement or else she would have been there as well.
Whenever I travel, I always like to connect with Active Rain members and I have met up with Debe and Nina several times on my visits to charlotte to see my son and his family. This time I was able to introduce Debe to my Annie and we had a grand old time.
We had agreed to meet at 11.30 and before we knew it time had flown and it was almost 2.30 I think before we left. It having been my birthday on Thanksgiving, we celebrated with a nice bottle of California Pink Prosecco over lunch. The meal was great, but the conversation was even better.
There is nothing better than getting to know other Active Rain members better as it gives you confidence to make referrals. Not that I needed any more confidence as both Debe and Nina are great agents who I would not hesitate to refer a client to if they were moving to Charlotte.
We covered real estate, but we also talked about our families, how we both met our spouses, unfortunately Ray did not join us this time, but hopefully next visit we will get the opportunity to meet Ray as well.
We had driven down via Blacksburg, VA home of Virginia Tech as Annie wanted to show me the campus of her alma mater, where she did her undergraduate studies. On our way home we stopped over again to join a friend of Annie's who was tailgating before the football game against UVA. It was bitterly cold but a nice hot cup of Brunswick Stew and some Chick Filet chicken tenders helped to keep the chill at bay, along with a Virginia Tech snuggly I was leant and of course some warming shots. We did not go to the game, but saw it on TV at our friends condo where we were staying, and then hit the road early on Sunday to be home in time to see my Eagles defeat the Ravens. I am getting excited that this may be our year to win another Superbowl.
