No doubt we have all sung songs with our own made up lyrics. Sometimes we misunderstood the real lyrics and sometimes just for fun. When I think of twisted Christmas lyrics I figure We Three Kings must top the chart. I found an unusual BEAUTIFUL version of We Three Kings. This is exceptional on a high quality stereo system.
Every year I look for an exceptional Christmas song. I'm still looking but this one may be in the running for this year.
Hello Bob - mondegreen has been defined as mishearing or misinterpreting a word or lyrics in a song. Over the years, I have messed up as well as mixed up many sorts of stuff. While it continues to happen, I am grateful your post reminded me that there is an actual word to describe the situation.

When an artist sings the traditional hymns with all their hart it can move us more than any other kind of music. As you know I've posted some incredible music as examples. We have many recording along the lines of Rock Around The Christmas Tree because Tina & Timmothy love them.

We have a station similar to the one you mention Wayne Martin but we play it at home and not in the car. Our cars are tuned to a Faith chanel.
I always thought Bad Moon on the Rise as actually Bathroom on the Right (CCR). I didn't realize I was singing it incorrectly until a few years ago.
Thanks for sharing the video - I hadn't heard that version before. I thought it was humorous that six women were singing "We three kings". For some reason that tickled me.

I do as well Endre Barath, Jr. so just think how powerful an artist must be to move us with lyrics we have heard so many times by lesser artists. That is what I am always looking for.

Songs like Rockin Round The Christmas Tree makes me smile BUT like yourself I like Christmas music that glorifies Christ Brian England . Between you and I am am also tired of beliefs that have nothing to do with this CHRISTIAN holliday. I also think it's a shame that our "Woke" culture, even among those who call themselves Christians, are so accepting of totally false, made up, beliefs because they do NO research to see if they are true.
Well, the good news is that the person in charge of the new Department of Government Efficiency has vowed to destroy the woke culture completely, haha.
