Friday Fun…Two Geezers and an Air Fryer
After reading about Air Fryers for years, we finally got one the
day after Thanksgiving.
Every Sunday, Will Hamm has shared recipes that would work in an Air Fryer. My friends kept telling me how great they are for wings and heating up things.
My reason for the hold up was that I didn’t want another large appliance on my countertop. My Jura Automatic Coffee maker is already large enough.
Then, one night my good friend, Hannah Williams, told me that QVC had an air-fryer on tv and the price was good. She liked that it had a clear top so you can see your food while it cooks. I bought the GreenPan 7 QT Ceramic 360 Clearview Air Fryer.
Our new gadget arrived the Friday after Thanksgiving. My first try was to reheat some Thanksgiving rolls. Through hit & miss (the instructions were minimal) I managed to heat them.
Yesterday, we ventured a little further…we tried to bake 3 frozen dinner rolls! (adventurous, aren’t we!)
What a sad state of affairs! You’d think someone who flew F-4s and the other person who knows her way around a kitchen could bake some rolls in a simple gadget!
I pressed the “on” button and pressed a few other buttons and then it made that sound an electronic thing makes when YOU did something wrong.
OOPS
So, as anyone who has a laptop or other similar device knows (heh heh) to do, we unplugged it and put it in time out.
I was this close to exchanging it for one that works when Larry plugged it back in and voila….it worked. We had rolls!
I’m not sure what our next experiment will be but I can’t wait to give it a try.
