This Week…Scurrying and Shivering
With only a few weeks left until Christmas, I’ve been rushing around. There are only a few small children’s gifts to purchase.
Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means. Ronald Reagan
My biggest task is to find a replacement for Santa. I’ve tried reaching out to Tim Allen but he’s busy. (get it?)
My neighbor across the street has played Santa for the last 3 years but for health reasons, we’re having to go a different route. The children (and parents) have so much fun seeing him walk through the front door, I don’t want to disappoint them.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
George Orwell
On a different note, today is the 83rd Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This day marked the United States’ entry into World War II. I seriously doubt our young children know anything about this day and what happened. If fact, I have a feeling many under 50 know what happened on this day.
Harmony makes small things grow, lack of it makes great things decay.
Sallust
This has been our first really cold week but don’t laugh… as I write this (Friday afternoon) it’s 56 degrees!
We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace. William E. Gladstone
Have a wonderful weekend.
