Is a stress free holiday season even possible? Especially when Thanksgiving is so late in the month.
I cruise the first week of December and this year, I have having major surgery on my dominate hand next week so it's particularly challenging to get it all done. It doesn't help that I am a huge decorator each year.
My goal was to finish shopping, wrapping, cards and decorating by today. I thought I had it all under control when I left for my cruise.
Most was all done before I left on my cruise. I ordered one gift nearly two weeks ago. It did not come yet. I reached out to the company and was told with Thanksgiving and their first of the month billing, they are behind and they have no idea when it will be shipped. Since I'm having surgery, I needed to mail it by Monday to the recipient. That can't happen now so I cancelled the order and have to shop today to find another gift. I'm not too happy about it.
Otherwise, everything is will be done today or maybe tomorrow since I have to shop later today.
I also have a large Christmas party where I do all the cooking! This year, due to surgery, that just is not going to happen. Plan B came into my silly, Christmas thoughts....A Christmas PJ Pizza Party!. Games are prepared and a neighbor will pick up the pizza since I won't be able to drive for 6-8 weeks after surgery! Neighbors will set up and clean up, too! Problem solved. There's always a solution!
While it's not been perfectly stress free, it's as stress free as possible under the circumstances. Planning was the keep to keeping my holidays season stress free.
Enjoy the season and don't stress!
