Was reading through the blogs today, and a home inspector was talking about the challenges of FINDING a home, especially if it is new construction. When GPS programs are not updated, finding a brand-new home can be very challenging.
THAT made me think of a time I was showing a home in a neighborhood close to my house. Pretty sure I did not sleep well the night before, as this was a dumb mistake!
When looking for a home, I usually look for the sign. OH GOOD, found the Keller Williams sign. We all got out, and went to the door. Well, something is wrong, the lockbox is not working. I called the real estate office (at that time that is who we called) and they asked at what house I was at. I read it off my MLS sheet.
OH CRAP, looked at the house number, and it wasn't the right house. That same agent listed TWO HOUSES together on one block.
Boy, I felt 2" tall, especially in front of my clients. Luckily they stuck with me, and we all had a good laugh.
These days I ALWAYS read the house number before going to the door!
