Creative Thinking

Hello Bob - be careful when addressing children with the warning, don't play with your food.  Such stifling may end up with some wise-@$$ remarks from the creative offspring.  

Good morning, Bob... you are right. So often, it's parents who "beat" the creativity out of their kids.

I feel there are some parents don't recognize creativity their children are expressing and move to squash it!

Hey Bob I could never understand how some adults don't  allow their kids creative sides to flourish!  That's so nuts.  My niece that lived with us for quite a few years was very creative. Her first Christmas here she asked if she could decorate a tree of her own.  Of course....anyway you want is fine with me!  Turned out pretty good......pretty much all purple and pink and she was happy and so proud of it.  I say....bring it on!

Hi Bob- I wholeheartedly agree. It's as important to encourage creativity in our children as it is to teach them to read. So many of the toys and games now don't allow for much creativity. 

A few years ago I let my mini-me decorate the cake we made. I just sat back and watched. It was different from what I usually do but that's the point..this was HER opportunity to be creative. 

I have always been creative with my food and I remember my mother saying when they came over to eat at our place: Wow where did you learn to cook like this I know it was not from me:)) we laughed and said the expensive restaurants thought me:)Endre

Haha, that is pretty funny, I don't think I have made anything with my food like a snowman.

We were not allowed to play with our food, but were provided lots of other opportunities for creativity. That being said, I do agree that stifling children's creativity can be very harmful.

Good morning Bob. I don't know how creative I was, but have vivd memories of playing with my food as a youngster. I guess if I ate it, it was all good. Enjoy your day.
