What to do with youth during winter break

Enjoy your Winter Break at local recreation centers with the We Are Aurora Youth program

Winter break is here! Aurora youth, ages 13 to 18, can access Central, Moorhead and Southeast recreation centers for free from noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, to Friday, Jan. 3.

 

• Central Recreation Center, 18150 E. Vassar Place 

• Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse, 25400 E. Alexander Drive 

• Moorhead Recreation Center, 2390 Havana St.

 

Daily free structured activities beginning at 4 p.m. Teens will be able to participate in a variety of fun programs, including games, crafts, competitions and much more. Aurora Public Schools will also provide free meals for youth ages 18 and under in the lobby of the recreation centers between noon and 4 p.m. Additionally, Expo Community Center, 10955 E. Exposition Ave., will have free drop-ins from noon to 2 p.m. on weekdays.

 

Teens are free to drop in anytime during the times and dates listed above, and must check in at the front desk and provide a brief membership profile for free admission.

Sounds like a good program Will Hamm . My wife has not even mentioned winter break yet. As a para (teachers aide) I know she appreciates the time off.

What a great opportunity for teens to keep busy during the holidays in Aurora! Providing free access to recreation centers and structured activities during winter break not only gives youth a safe and fun environment but also an opportunity to make new friends. The added bonus of free meals ensures that no one is goes hungry. Kudos to everyone involved in organizing this event.
