This past Saturday we drove to Garrison North Dakota to partake in The Dickens Festival, the official Christmas Capital of North Dakota. This event is an all weekend event held the last week of November and each December weekend preceding Christmas. The event is 30 years old and it gets bigger every year. Here are a few pictures I snapped.
All of us enjoyed the tour of the town of Garrison ND on the Queen Elizabus, as Timmothy's smile attests.
Most every store and service was open including the ND Firefighters Museum.
Most of the shoppe keepers were dressed for the occasion. BTW is you go back to the photo of the Queen Elizabeth the tour guide was dressed the best and his story about the buss was very fascinating.
This non-functional phone booth had a replica of a phone of that era and it also served as the boarding point for the Queen Elizabus boarding point.
The license plate in this shoppe caught my attention as my daughter is Tina Timm (before marriage).
No festival is complete without food and entertainment. We passed on the stage entertainment as it was more than we cared to pay for for a Taylor Swift impersonator, Heck, I wouldn't pay $40.00 to see the real Taylor Swift!
