Housing Market 2025: What to Expect for Home Prices

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Apex Realtors, LLC ~ 512.750.6899 410939

Are you wondering if home prices will crash in 2025? According to industry experts, a significant price drop is unlikely. Instead, home prices are expected to continue rising, though at a more moderate and sustainable pace compared to recent years.

The key factor driving this trend is the classic principle of supply and demand. With housing inventory remaining tight in many markets, competition among buyers is likely to keep prices steady or push them upward. However, it’s essential to remember that real estate is inherently local—home prices can vary widely depending on market-specific conditions.

What does this mean for you? If you’re considering buying or selling a home in 2025, understanding our local market dynamics is crucial. Let’s connect! I’d be delighted to provide personalized insights and help you make informed decisions for your next move.

Good morning Dorie Dillard Austin TX, my local market has changed a great deal since July 2024. Inventory is super tight with less demand than we saw in the summer months. I am hoping a turn in 2025.

Dorie, I can’t wrap my head around how home prices keep climbing. A house nearby was just listed for over $300k more than one that recently sold, and both are almost identical inside and out, and it went pending within a week!

Although the 10 year T-bills are still rising, I expect that trend to go in the opposite direction after Trump takes office. The summer might be crazy.

Such a building shortage the last few years. I predict tight inventory over the next 5 years at least.

This is a good report to share with home buyers and home sellers.

The limited inventory of available homes is the condition in many markets.

Dorie we are still in a Sellers Market here in CT, so prices will continue to increase until we start turning to a more balanced market.
