Friday Fun…In the Eye of the Beholder

Today is National Ugly Sweater Day. You can read more about Ugly Sweaters but I think we all have seen them….some of you own one or two…some of you own one or two and don’t realize it!

 

At any rate…I am not a sweater person. And, unless my mother dressed me in one before I could voice my dislike of them, I have never worn an ugly sweater. 

Last weekend our grandson sent us a picture from a party he was attending. When I saw it, I immediately said to Larry…It must be an Ugly Sweater party. 

 

However, I thought... what if it isn’t an ugly sweater party and that’s how he likes to dress??!!(it turned out to be an Ugly Sweater Party)

 

So, for some Friday Fun…fess up…do you have, own, proudly wear your ugly sweater???

Good morning, Kathy... as I often say, "I don't do ugly." But I do get a kick out of Ugly Sweater Day and our office had its annual ugly sweater contest on Tuesday morning... quite amazing what people will wear!

Michael Jacobs for those who know me, I rarely (like almost never) wear prints or anything but solids so the ugly sweater would fall into that category of what I don't wear.

Kathy, We have attended ugly sweater parties in the past and would always pass the sweater along after the event to someone to wear at another party!

Hi Kathy,
To my knowledge, I have never owned an ugly sweater unless the one I knit out of leftover yarn from various projects counts. I do wish I had a picture of it. I didn't consider it ugly at the time, but maybe it was. 😂

Ok, Kathy Streib, here are a couple of knitting samples for you. The sweater is one of my early projects as a teenager. It fit me then, but not now!  I made the dress when I was about 16.

I had to laugh Kathy Streib because there are some who wear an ugly sweater and have no idea how ugly it is ! LOL! Of curse it is all in the eye of the beholder. I do think ugly sweater parties are fun although I haven't been to one in a long time.

HI Kathy - I didn't know it was Ugly Christmas Sweater Day!  I have gone to and hosted a few Ugly Christmas Sweater parties over  the years.....but it's been awhile!  I don't have any sweaters anymore.....just flannel shirts because they're warm!

Hi Kathy:

I knew it was Ugly Sweater Day today but I am not participating. But I was out running some errands today and saw a few people wearing them - one was amazing. I think I said "WOW" out loud while driving by.

Jeff Dowler, CRS I love it. I had a receptionist who had a "special" sweater for every holiday and coordinating earrings and necklaces!!!!  It was hard looking at her because my eyes bounced all over the place.
