u1982: On Dec. 26, Time magazine names the personal computer its “Man of the Year.”

u1968: On Dec. 24, American astronauts first orbit the Moon, aboard Apollo 8.

u1947: A freak Dec. 26 storm dumps two feet of snow on New York City in 24 hours.

u1944: Tennessee Williams’ play “The Glass Menagerie” premiers Dec. 26 in Chicago.

I remember to Nina,

it was the first time Time magazine gave the award to a non-human recipient since it was created in 1927. The magazine described the computer as "the greatest influence for good or evil" in 1982.
