FIRST TIME TO BLOG -- TOTALLY LOST

By
Real Estate Agent with PromiseLand Realty & Development

Hello Everyone,

I've just spent the better part of my day trying to figure out- (1) how to get my site started  (2) how to begin sharing with real estate professionals who sell historic homes and 3) how to post some really great deals on a couple of homes here (that I have NOT figured out yet).

Anyway this should be as much fun as when I first started using a Macintosh computer.

I'm stilling trying to figure out which groups I should be talking to??? how to make the best use of my site??? and how often to blog (I;m guessing that means writing to a group?)

I'm from Alabama, a realtor in Union Springs (only about 3,000 people) - a small city between Montgomery and Auburn.  This is a real test for me - so comments are extremely WELCOME

It takes awhile Joyce, but there is plenty of help here!  I still spend tons of time reading many blogs that have taught me  lots about websites, RE practices, and some are just plain fun!  Enjoy!

Hi Joyce and welcome to activerain.  Well you're off to a good start asking for advice.  What helped me the most was going on and seeing what others were talking about.  I would limit my time as well otherwise the day can slip away from you if your not careful, because there is so much info to absorb.  Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great!  Michael A. Joyce,

Welcome to activerain.  You are indeed off to a great start.  You asked about how often you should blog.  I try to blog whenever I think of something real estate related that I want to share with the world.

Remember, the more you blog, the better the search engines such as google and Yahoo will find your information.

In this day and age of computer savvy consumers searching the internet for their new homes, it's good to your name and contact information come up on as many sources and documents as possible.

Also, it is very important to log into Activerain's sister website Localism.com and enter information about your city. I just checked Localism in another computer window and Union Springs Alabama is wide open for you to be the local real estate guru online.

Drive around with a digital camera and photograph the highlights of Union Springs Alabama.  Upload those photos to localism and quickly you will become the local localism real estate expert for your areas.

On Localism, help them to define tracts, neighborhoods or districts within your city of Union Springs.

Get friendly with the Union Springs Historical League and mine them for information that you can blog about.

Most importantly, have fun with it and welcome to activeRain
