I am so excited about my #2 goal for 2025! As most of you know I've been an avid hiker, golfer, sports gal all my life. Moving and being active brings me great pleasure as well as a sense of well being. With that said, that all came to a drop dead end starting last December. I spent a great deal of the year healing from a medical mistake made which turned into a year of kind of one thing leading to another for me and that wasn't 'fun'. That is done! I say DONE! I was at my final lap of healing from SI joint surgery which I had at the end or October. I had almost healed just before Christmas. But then alas, we got hit by a crazy driver and that sent me back a bit. Well maybe more than a bit. But day by day I trusted I would get my mojo back however I needed to. Period. And here I am today.....on the road again!
Yesterday was my first day of being able to go 'walking' per se in a big box store albeit with my handy dandy 'trotter'! I walked slowly for almost 30 to 40 minutes (and I found a fabulous art piece - bonus)! Today I had my first PT session at my house and it wasn't pretty but oh I knew it's exactly what I needed. My gal is so good and knows me well and how determined I am to get back to normal. She's on board with helping me - and gave me the red light for more walking, walking walking!
Today after the PT session Gary and I went on a picnic to relax just a bit as I was bushed. But then I absolutely knew I had to go walking again today even if I was hurting. So that's what we did. I walked about 40 minutes or so at Costco and picked up a few needed items. So this new 'get my strength back plan' has side benefits! Who knew!! LOL
I am going to keep a log of my walking and strength exercises as it's motivational for me to see the progress. And of course I'll keep track of how I'm feeling and improving. My goal is at some point to walk for a bit on the bottom of the mountain trail I used to hike up. I look up at that hill every day from my house and wish I could still be out there. Getting back on the top may or may not be possible over time. And that's fine by me......just being outside in nature and getting back to taking pictures -like my photo above and below works for me! One thing I do want to do, which could be a ways away yet is play at least 9 holes of golf with Carol Williams and Gary! Heck I'll be happy to ride along in the cart until that day! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Thanks again Leanne Smith and Will Hamm for hosting this challenge. It has been very motivational for me to focus as well as share my plans for 2025!
PS My first goal has been achieved! Low and behold (after my come to Jesus talk on Thursday), first thing Monday morning the insurance company deposited cash in my account for my totaled car. I picked up the new car Monday afternoon and it's awesome - a Lincoln Nautilus. Better than I had imagined so all worked out as I had planned and imagined in my mind. YES!
