Hearts of Carlsbad Village Scavenger Hunt
The 5th Hearts of Carlsbad Village blown glass scavenger hunt in Carlsbad Village is coming soon. What a fun opportunity to spend time in Carlsbad Village outdoors exploring!
The Carlsbad Village Association and Barrio Glassworks are sponsoring this fun treasure hunt on February 8th. The event is supported by Visit Carlsbad, the official tourism marketing organization in the City of Carlsbad.
February is American Heart Month, and Valentine’s Day is 6 days after the event. What’s more appropriate than a heart-themed treasure hunt?
Here’s how the Hearts of Carlsbad Village works.
300 colorful hand-blown glass hearts created at Barrio Glassworks will be “hidden” in popular locations in the Village.
Each engraved glass heart is numbered and dated, and collectible, and it’s finders keepers! But please only 1 heart per family.
Hearts will be visible in iconic historic places, near downtown murals, at places one might sit and relax, and near local hotels. Don’t look for hearts near or on the railroad tracks or rail trails, at Barrio Glassworks, or the beach.
The Carlsbad Village Association website has some guidelines about where hearts may placed and a boundary map of the area to look in. You can print out the map pdf and take it with you on your hunt!
If you prefer you can buy hearts at Barrio Glassworks. Not everyone will be successful at the hunt or can’t attend for some reason!
After you discover a heart be sure to register it on the special website hosted by CVA so you can be entered into a prize drawing. One prize is a free private glass blowing experience at Barrio Glassworks and there’s more. A label attached to each heart will have registration details.
Many thanks to the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) and to Barrio Glassworks for once again hosting this creative scavenger hunt event in Carlsbad Village during American Heart Month.
Barrio Glassworks is also on Instagram (@BarrioGlassworks).
Don’t forget the Heart of the Village Blood Drive hosted by Barrio Glassworks and the Carlsbad Village Association on Saturday February 8 from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm. Be sure to make your reservations for a donation time in advance.
