Rules of Engagement

Reblogger Dee Toohey
Real Estate Agent with Innovative Realty Solutions Group BK3158345

Many think that real estate is an easy career that will make you wealthy. Well, it's not easy but the income potential is unlimited.

You have to actually work. Motivation is key.

All real estate professionals are not alike.

This is from the National Associations of Realtors.

When looking for an agent to help you buy or sell a property, look for experience. It matters.

Rules of Engagement

The honest truth? There are no rules for long-term success! What works for Bobby may not gain traction with Julie, so it's a singular business model, intrinsically self-driven by design. Am so thankful for my past marketing and advertising career.

Making connections with potential clients takes consistent effort and time. Relationship building means gaining trust through several integral methods. Three tried and true ways in particular have worked for me in the past and are still my trusted go-to.

📍 Blogging:

Since 2009, writing has been an almost, daily reflex. From the moment I found a voice here at ActiveRain, 5,191 posts have been blogged about everything from southern Utah market reports, on how to garden, to spending time at the Silo. Many referrals have been sent by members, am forever grateful for that.

📍 Social Media:

Maintaining a positive mindset and relaying that on social media sites has allowed me to re-kindle family relations & friendships, helps to gather with like-minded people and to gain a loyal following. A little business mixed with sunrise/sunset photos, gardening, sharing parts of every day life, creates a degree of transparency.

📍 Direct Mailing:

Direct mailing has been a successful return on investment for me and plays a large part in the soft touch approach. Every quarter, a new greeting card is designed with real estate in mind, printed, then sent out, offering something of value. It has brought referrals every single time! Proof there is loyalty in this industry.

When first starting out in real estate, I joined as many local groups that were thought to help push business forward. Unfortunately, many only wanted a 'work crew' whose long-term members benefitted from, instead of eager, new recruits. Quality rules over quantity, a valuable lesson learned.

Attending industry events, joining beneficial organizations, participating in a online communities plus doing what works for individual success is up to every single professional. Clients rule, so engage!
