Wordless Wednesday…Yes, It Snowed!
We may get hurricanes and the occasional tornado but SNOW??!! We woke up Tuesday to snow flurries. I’m still a kid when it comes to snow, so I was up and out the back door when it was still dark out!
You know you’re in trouble when Jim Cantore (The Weather Channel) shows up in your city.
On the rare occasions that it snows here, almost everything comes to a halt. Schools closed, most people were home, both our airports closed, and all of our elevated freeways and flyovers iced over.
On the left-a LBB (Little Brown Bird) feasts on my homemade peanut butter suet.
On the right- young and old took advantage of any snow-covered small hills, fashioned whatever they could for a sled and had a ball! This man had a true Texas Buc-ees inner tube for his sled. I saw video of people using large pieces of cardboard covered in plastic, garbage can lids, canoes, and a small air mattresses!
Thanks to the heater Larry placed in our bird bath, we made sure that our backyard friends had water rather than one large ice cube.
