Third Post for the January Challenge!!!

By
Real Estate Technology with http://www.medicalandspaconsulting.com

In my first two posts, I discussed "starting" (which is part of organizing) and then implementation .

The next logical step is execution. I am from Jersey originally so execution can mean different things to different people. LoL

Execution is an essential step because without it, we waste a lot of time and resources getting leads and clients. All of the clients in the world are meaningless unless and until there is execution. This seems simple but I see SOOO many businesses fail to execute even the best business plans. I actually believe that more businesses fail to execute than ones that successfully execute. It is that rampant.

If/ when a business plan is developed and an implementation plan devised, the execution should be a natural consequence because the execution is the result of the implementation. Execution follows the implementation process almost automatically.

Execution DOES require effective communication with staff or external sources of the business (outside call room for example).  I spoke with a timeshare executive today and it was very apparent that his outside call room was ineffective....they were not closing leads. This is part of execution.

The final aspect of execution is to establish initial, realistic expectations. The expectations should be adjusted as experience and feedback are obtained.  If the results are below expectations, exam the potential causes and of course, FIX THEM!

As with every thing in business, testing is a key!!  So that will be my fourth post on the January challenge - next week!!

Paddy, I've run into this countless times with small businesses.  The plumber/electrician/other trade of choice may be fantastic with the expertise needed for their job, but their execution leaves much to be desired.  Phone calls not returned, estimates not provided, etc.  I think it's the reason that once we find a good one (like our preferred appliance repair company) we keep calling them for our next need, and providing their names to our clients when they have a similar need.

Good morning Paddy,

Good entry into the January Challenge! It is all about the execution or I call it the "experience" when working on a real estate transaction. Effective communication is key in execution.

Dorie, I see it on a consistent basis...many of the high profile agents in many areas spend all of their effort on promotion and then have terrible execution (follow up)

Success hinges on execution. A business plan without a timeline is merely wishful thinking.

Hi Paddy- I love football. All of the game plans in the world, whether by Belichick or Saban, can't win a championship with poor or no execution. If you manage a sales group, you cannot stop laying out a plan. You have to make sure it is executed correctly.

Your posting reminded me why I established this acronym - ACE - Assess, Clarify, Execute, as I worked through my own strategic plan as well as when I worked with my executive leadership and sales coaching clients.  Lack of execution is an decision not to take action. Thank you for your third entry. Your AI feature photo is very good.
