Mastering Mindset, Health, and Real Estate Success with Jerry Walker

When I first decided to write a book and launch a podcast, I encountered a fair share of skepticism. People told me things like:

  • "Jeremy, most podcasts don’t make it past three episodes. It’s hard to stay consistent."
  • "Jeremy, you’re not approaching this the right way—it won’t succeed."
  • "Jeremy, this won’t help your business. It’ll only work as a hobby."

But here we are, at the 100th episode of the Survive Scale Soar podcast, and I’m still going strong. This milestone is a testament to staying disciplined, consistent, and locked in. Not only has the podcast been a personally rewarding journey, but it has also contributed significantly to my business, helping me attract coaching clients and grow my real estate team.

For this special episode, I couldn’t think of a better guest than my coaching client and friend, Jerry Walker, Team Lead of the Jerry Walker Team brokered by LPT Realty. Jerry’s 30+ years of experience in real estate sales, combined with his wisdom, kindness, and incredible personal journey, make this episode a must-listen for anyone in the real estate industry.

Jerry Walker: A Veteran in Real Estate

Based in Willis, Texas, a suburb of Houston, Jerry Walker leads a highly respected team that serves Montgomery County and its surrounding areas. His team specializes in residential real estate, helping buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants achieve their goals. Jerry also has extensive experience in land acquisition and commercial real estate, making him a versatile professional with deep industry expertise.

In this episode, Jerry shares the key mindset strategies that have helped him sustain success for over three decades. His insights are invaluable for both new and experienced agents, particularly in a competitive field like real estate.

The Importance of Mindset and Discipline

One of the major themes of this episode is the critical role mindset plays in achieving long-term success. Jerry opens up about the challenges he’s faced and how maintaining a strong, positive mindset has helped him navigate the ups and downs of the industry.

For agents looking to build sustainable careers, Jerry emphasizes the importance of surrounding yourself with mentors, seeking guidance from experienced professionals, and dedicating time to personal development. He encourages agents to invest in learning—whether through reading, studying, or coaching—and to take action on the insights they gain.

Jerry’s Personal Health Journey

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jerry’s personal health transformation is truly inspiring. Since June 2024, Jerry has lost over 30 pounds through discipline and commitment to his health goals. He shares how this journey has positively impacted his energy, focus, and overall well-being, enabling him to show up at his best for his clients, team, and family.

This discussion serves as a powerful reminder of the connection between personal health and professional success. For anyone striving to balance the demands of a busy career, Jerry’s story offers both motivation and actionable advice.

Lessons for Real Estate Agents

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting your career in real estate, Jerry’s advice is invaluable. Here are some of the key takeaways from this episode:

  1. Prioritize Mindset: Success in real estate starts with the right mindset. Stay resilient, adaptable, and focused on your goals.
  2. Invest in Yourself: Surround yourself with mentors and coaches who can guide you. Read, study, and learn from those who have paved the way.
  3. Commit to Personal Growth: Whether it’s improving your health, building discipline, or mastering new skills, personal development fuels professional success.
  4. Focus on Relationships: Real estate is a relationship-driven business. Building trust and providing exceptional service are the keys to long-term success.
