With everything going on in the world, the internet is inundated with news about the Chinese AI startup, DeepSeek. I have written a bit about this during the past few days from a technology standpoint.
SO what is it really and why is there so much fuss? Well, for one thing, DeepSeek has accomplished with $6 million as ChatGPT did with $6 BILLION. That alone is pretty remarkable. I downloaded it on Saturday and began using it. It isn't perfect but it is off to a great start. It is available for iOS and Android.
I work with proprietary AI applications so it is difficult to impress me. I imagine that DeepSeek will improve and improve quickly.
Soooo, I recommend that 'Rainers download it and begin to use it. I have frequently recommended during our AI Zoom meetings that we choose a platform and stay with it to improve the learning curve. This is still true. However, it will not hurt to begin to study / utilize DeepSeek because it has already made a deep splash (Pun intended) in a very short period of time.
I read that it was the most downloaded app over the past weekend as news about it surfaced in the tech and financial world.
As the saying goes, "Hey, why not? Give it a try!"
