Property Management

By
Real Estate Agent with North Pointe Realty

I would like to get started with property management. Seems more and more of my phone

calls are for rentals rather than purchasing real estate. I know of some good classes online

to take. Any feedback you could give me would be great.

Property management can be a headache at times, renting and leasing can be a good source of leads or referrals for future home buyers.

Check your state licensing boards for schools in your area.  best of luck

Sandy, I think in todays market we need to explore every opportunity to make money! And rentals and home buyers go hand in hand. I would definately look into online classes. Just make sure the one you take is state specific!

It takes a long time to build up a client base in rentals and it is a headache.  I admire agents that can do it.

Sandy,

Property management is great tool to implement into your R/E business. In fact, I use it to  "move-up" my my tenants that are ready and thinking of buying a home. Property management can be a great "leg up". I charge between 10 to 12 percent of the rent collections for my services. single family home is a good place to get your feet wet... but your money is going to be in MFR.

Denice is right... nothing easy about it. You're going to EARN your money. A system is PRINCIPLE! Remember that it's a business, so don't let your emotions get involved with the people you see over, and over, and over, ....
