Real estate isn’t just about homes—it’s about having the freedom to be present for the moments that matter.
I’ve negotiated deals while dodging Nerf darts, taken client calls with screaming boys in the background, and paused work to build Lego cities across the living room floor, maybe jump in on a wrestling match or grab a super soaker and run into the back yard.
- Some days, my “office” was the kitchen table, where I balanced contracts, a cup of coffee, and the occasional Matchbox car flying past my head.
One of my favorite clients once told me, "Get off the phone and get those little turds!" after I mentioned I had just been pelted by a Nerf dart mid-conversation and my son is full on belly laughing that he caught me on the phone off guard.
That’s the kind of work-life balance real estate has given me. Some of my best business calls have happened from the stands at baseball practice, watching my kids play while helping families find their perfect home. And the best part? Not one client has ever minded.
👉 I have to confess I love the distractions.
In fact, many laughed, relating to the same chaos in their own homes. They understood that, just like them, I wasn’t just building a business; I was building a life.
Real estate has given me the chance to work hard without missing out.
I get to meet some of the best people I know for breakfast and lunch, share stories with clients who become friends, and guide families through one of their life's most exciting (and sometimes stressful) decisions.
But at the end of the day, I still get to be there, whether helping with homework, coaching a little league team, or jumping into an all-out Nerf battle to defend my honor.
For me, real estate isn’t just a career. It’s a lifestyle that allows me to be fully present for my family while doing something I love. And that’s something I wouldn’t trade for anything.
So please, if you’re a friend, a client, an agent, a lender, etc... and we can hardly hear each other because you’re in the middle of a Nerf war or your family is having a blast, never apologize. I get it. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🚀
