Why do I love selling Towson Real Estate?

This month's ActiveRain challenge is "What do you love about what you do?"

What do I love about what I do?

I love connecting buyers and sellers. I love helping sellers who want to move on showcase their home and how they love it. I love when a buyer loves it so much and it appears to be a great match.

It makes me so happy when buyers and sellers come to agreements and both sides feel good about their choices.

Some of my favorite closings have been when the buyers and sellers are connecting across the table and end the signing with hugs. A promise from the buyer to the seller that they will love the home and cherish it as much as the seller did.

Everyone in that situation walks away with a good feeling.

Does it happen all the time? Of course not. But those moments when good feelings are there are what a love and live for year after year, and they happen more often than one may think.

But even those that don't go smoothly or well. Or the seller doesn't want to sell. Or it isn't a great situation...

Being able to be part of the reason this piece of hard time is over can feel good too.

So again, what do I love about what I do? I love that I am able to help people get through some of the most stressful and hard times in their lives. Even when the situation is happy. 

Knowing that my clients have put their trust and confidence in me day after day, year after year, makes me love what I do.

Hello Marney - I understand the importance of connection and can see why you chose it as a topic to research for this month's challenge.   Its potential is definitely powerful.  And real estate combines aspects of financial as well as emotional aspects of everyday life.  Your thoughts have been nicely pulled together.

I love your post, Marney and totally agree with you 100%! You know, with the CFPB rules, I have absolutely hated that buyers and sellers cannot be in the same room to Close. One of the most wonderful aspects of Closing was buyers and sellers sharing their excitement about the home. The smiles and heartfelt sharing made Closing more 'real' and not simply transactional to them. I love the attorneys who have gone back to the 'family' style Closings!

Hi Marney, it is so gratifying when everyone is happy with their purchase and sale. Most people are happy at closing. Of course, there are a few times when things get sideways and someone isn't happy. That's human nature. But we always strive for a positive outcome; some things are beyond our control.
