Do You Have Long Term Goals....Plan Ahead If You Want Income Forever!!

Targeting new goals and conquering new challenges are tasks that we deal with every year.  Just as we need to set short term goals so, too, do we need to have long term goals.  Where do you expect to be in five years?  Do you plan your yearly goals with your long term plan in mind?  I certainly hope so.

Many years ago, my plan was to form a team and eventually refer all of my business to those team members.  It worked well, but I made it happen.  It required many years of developing this game plan.  It didn’t happen overnight.

Every year I eliminated a portion of my inventory by referring it.  I always referred my business to the same people.  It started with referring all buyers; then I referred all resale properties; and finally I referred my new construction communities.  The latter was the most difficult because that was my passion, and I had to select the right person to mentor.  I did and it worked!!  When I decided to form a team, the team members were the agents to whom I already referred business.  I knew the plan….they didn’t!!!

My builders work with Lorraine just as they did with me.  Now I do the marketing and the team members do all of the work.  It’s a plan that worked because it was designed fifteen years ago.  I’ve had a team for 10+ years.  It’s been a long time since I’ve had to do a deal, and I really love what I do now.

Have you planned for the future or are you just taking your career one year at a time?  Plan it now and make it work for you. I call what I do “semi-retirement” and I don’t think I’ll ever have to retire!!  I can work from anywhere, as long as I can think!!
