This Week…Ready to Watch!

 

It’s been a week of ActiveRain Anniversaries for me, gorgeous weather, and anticipating Super Bowl LIX.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved football. Football was on our television at home (3 sets on Thanksgiving Day)...we tossed it around on Sundays in our front yard…and Friday nights in the Fall meant Friday Night Football. 

The most important thing is
 to be where your feet are.

There was only one year when I couldn’t stomach watching the game. It wasn’t the game but the people who wanted to use it for their personal political agendas.

Enough of that. Larry and I are hoping for a good game…no blow-outs.

I gave up watching the half-time shows after Lady Gaga’s performance in 2017.  However, I do enjoy seeing the creativity of the Super Bowl ads.

Hello Kathy - enjoy the game.  I might not care much what or when which team scores.   Or how much more stuff is sold.  However, the cultural aspect of such things can be a conversation starter.

Michael Jacobs there was a gentleman next to me at the self-checkout line who was buying all sorts of fun-looking snacks for the game. I was tempted to go back for snacks but in the interset of weight and health, I passed. Bummer.

Good morning, and good luck to the Chiefs! We aren't die hard football fans, but do have some favorite teams and watch a game here or there. We watched the Chiefs/Bills game a few weeks ago and we're going to watch the SuperBowl. And we do watch everything except the halftime show.

Good morning Kathy. The wife and I decided to limit the snack options and concentrate on watching the game. As a Bears fan I can dream of them getting back there and then wake up from the dream, ha, ha. Enjoy the game.

I am glad they have stopped the political garbage and brought back football. It is a game. EVERYONE IS WELCOME not just those we agree with. To be honest...I do not like either team this year...so I hope the commercials are great.

I'm not excited about the match-up this year, but I'll probably watch if only to see the Clydesdale ad. I don't usually watch the half-time show. They don't choose the entertainers for my age group.

Oh Kathy you'd smile seeing my Mom watch football.  She loved 'her' Vikings!  And Sundays were noisy around our house!  And dinner wasn't served until after the game!  I still have a Helga hat and just may wear it tomorrow for fun!

The game was certainly a surprise for many! I didn't watch but did check in on the score a few times. Having grown up in Philadelphia I was in favor of the Eagles...my Dad was a huge football fan and watched games whenever possible.
