I Didn’t Get the Right Advice—So I Make Sure Others Do.

You might not have noticed, but trust me—times are changing faster than a teenager's mood swings. People don't look for mentors, teachers, or guides anymore. The Internet and AI have taken over—you can search for anything in seconds. But now and then, you meet someone who still values the human touch—someone who wants to ask fundamental questions, have a conversation, and get advice from a person, not just an algorithm.

That's what I love most about what I do. Whether I'm helping someone buy a home, figure out a mortgage, or get the right insurance or investment, I get to fill in the blanks—answer the questions they didn't even know they needed to ask. And that's what makes this work so rewarding.

I wear a few hats—real estate, mortgages, and insurance—and the funny thing is, they all connect. You can't buy a house without a loan; you need insurance to protect it once you have it. But what if you have all the cash? Is that really the best way to buy? Could your money be working for you instead of becoming the seed for someone else's financial success? And if you do borrow, can you borrow from yourself? The truth is, most people don't learn about these options until it's too late. That's why I love being the go-to person who helps them see the bigger picture, making their journey easier and their decisions smarter.

Some people pick one thing, master it, and stick with it. There's nothing wrong with that. But I've always believed in helping people as a whole—making sure they have all the pieces, not just one. Real success isn't just about making a sale; it's about guiding people toward the best decisions for their future.

When work stops being just about paying the bills, the real joy comes from helping people. There is no pressure, no sales pitch—just honest conversations, open minds, and making sure people feel confident in their choices. When you're not worried about losing business, you can focus on what truly matters—being someone people can trust.

There's much to learn; I'll be your partner in uncovering it all. And that? That makes it all worth it—finding what I love in what I do.

Here's my joining with my submission.

People would be wise to trust you!  Some of the best advice we are able to give our clients comes from bad advice we have received in the past and learning the hard way.  If we are able to keep clients from finding out things the hard way, we have done a good job!

Hi Deepak,
As long as there is no conflict of interest, I think offering all those services is great. I knew inspectors who were also contractors and they ALWAYS found things that needed to be done... and, of course, they could do it!

Carol Williams There is always a possibility of leaning toward self-interest; ultimately, we live with what we do, and it always comes back in one or another!

Advice obtained over the internet has to be taken carefully.  People look for what they want and not necessarily the right information. That's where an agent has their place.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 Times are changing. AI is running the show—I’m just waiting for it to teach me how to age gracefully.

But Ed, the experience still has its perks!

Buzz Mackintosh I totally agree—we’re all shaped by the company we keep. These days, buyers and sellers are heavily influenced by technology and online information. It’s funny sometimes to see how people don’t even realize what they’ve left on the table!

Oh, there is nothing better than a great mentor, Deepak! And, it's so very nice to have a thorough understanding of all aspects of what we do. How else are we able to relay everything to our clients?

Fantastic entry into our challenge this month. Thank you!

Thanks for stopping by. I have a Question for you.

Who can help start (or how do you start) a green thumb group for people who soil in the dirt and talk to trees & earthworms?

My problem is sometimes I don't listen to my own advice. :)

Loving our career and what we can do to help people is a blessing. A wise person once said, "do what you love and you'll never have to "work" a day in your life."

Thank you for entering the February challenge.

Yes, Pat, easier said than done! I’m trying to make my life more structured—just the way I like it. If you're at peace with yourself, you actually listen to yourself.

Hello Deepak - wearing multiple hats is likely to occur in the course of everyday life.  Being flexible but steadfast can make balancing life a bit confusing at times yet we continue to learn each and every day.  And, yes, mistakes can come our way.  Such experiences continue to test us.

Michael Jacobs Yes, as long as intentions are good, it all goes well. Yesterday I was watching a black and white movie. Here is part of the concluding dialogue:

  • "Whoever brings trouble to his family will be left with nothing but the wind."
