Once again I've decided that I've outgrown the faith of the church I've been attending. I've explored denomination after denomination moving on most often due to church doctrines playing down the truth of what I consider the unchanging and inerrant word of God. Man, if you think the truth is a moving target then in actuality you don't believe in anything.
And then there are the pastors. Two churches ago I was very content and loved every aspect of the church I was attending. The largest giver to the church cast his wife aside for a slut and the pastor defended him so as not to lose the biggest giver of the church. The church before that it was the pastor who was having an affair. In the church I am in the process of leaving the pastor runs every little aspect of it and feels he should be called Dr. Reverend (John Doe) Pastor Author Blogger. I'm not sticking around for him to add Most High God.
Today I (and only I) scouted out something new for our family. It's not totally new to me as I have heard several pastors from this movement and I hold them in high regard. If you have heard of Pastor Greg Laurie you would know I am speaking of The Calvary Chapel Movement founded by Chuck Smith. I enjoyed my visit and will visit again soon after I read up on it a bit.
I encourage others to question if their faith and the leaders of that faith are solid on Biblical values. Are you growing because of your church or are you just there because it's the church you grew up in and your parents and grandparents grew up there? If eternal life with God is important to you don't you think you should know his book inside and out?
I am not writing this to attack any faith or belief. If you are Muslim, Hindu, Druid or what ever... does your faith match up to it's doctrine? I encourage everyone to have the strongest faith possible in whomever you worship.
