If you're stepping onto a subway train you might hear or see a "mind the gap" warning. That gap between the loading platform and the train, while small, can lead to major problems if you don't "mind the gap".
While for most of us may not encounter subways and their gaps on a regular basis, there are plenty of other gaps to mind.
We just finished a major Wordpress/IDX site facelift (thanks YourSiteNeedsMe SEO Team) and their were some gaps to fix.
Our IDX solution hadn't reflected a brokerage name change in all locations, and their was some bureaucracy involved in getting that updated. Gap closed.
249 custom search pages needed refreshed to make sure they stay evergreen. Gap closed.
The realization that I need even MORE custom search pages?? Newer communities have been created since my last major wave of search page creation. And maybe a few of those custom search pages I made could go away (traffic results are minimal). That's a gap still open.
In other areas, there can also be gaps, some with more hazard than others.
Gaps in what clients want and expect and actual services provided.
Gaps in what agents expect from their brokers and reality.
Gaps in market coverage and expertise.
Gaps in MLS capabilities.
Gaps in written rules vs. expected behavior.
Gaps in blog post coverage.
Gaps in the ability to retain your content if you allow someone else to do the hosting.
These gaps (and plenty more) exist that you might need to mind.
