Wordless Wednesday…They Won the Bidding War!
The bidding war began a few weeks ago and our preferred tenants won!
The English Sparrow and our Bluebird have been vying for this home. Both can be very aggressive but the English Sparrow is an invasive species and can destroy nestlings and eggs.
The property owner has been diligent about removing nesting material brought in by the Sparrow.
This week, Mrs. Bluebird began moving in. She’s almost done!!!
And now…we wait!!!

I love this! It certainly looks like the more aggressive tenant took the reigns and made it their home! Once again there is a winner and a looser..such as life!

Dorie Dillard Austin TX both birds are pretty aggressive and it's a battel every nesting season.
Oh my goodness, Kathy... so gosh darn clever! Love it and happy to hear those blue birds won the bidding war! Hopefully, they didn't have to go too far over asking price!

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty it really was. Last year, the chickadees decided to have one brood there so our bluebirds went next door to our neighbor's box. It's really funny watching the bluebirds divebomb the squirrels.
I miss may backyard in Louisiana. All sorts of birds!

Doug Rogers I'll bet you do!!! We did have a peahen lay eggs in our backyard. It was near a bush and I about died when I saw them.

Bluebirds! My daughter fights every year with the dang barn swallows building their mud huts in her front porch arch. Hopefully the new siding will confuse them this spring. Thank you for sharing!

Aura Alex we monitor 4 boxes at the Preserve where we walk and fingers crossed for more broods this year. I love hearing our mockingbird sing for us.
