The Nascar race in Atlanta was one of the first dates my now wife took me on when I first visited Georgia after moving back to the states.  At the time (in 2000) I picked Jimmy Johnson as "my driver" because we were from the same place.  That worked out well for me.

The Daytona 500 is an event so many look forward to! The news is over the top on this years as the President made an appearance!

I have only been to one Nascar event in my life and it certainly didn't leave me yearning to attend another one, although I would, haha.

Hello Rocky - even as a non-sports fan, I was aware of this day but didn't watch it.  Beyond the race, fast and faster cars as well as other related festivities, the cultural impact can't be ignored in my opinion.
