Well...it took almost the entire winter to get here...but we finally have received a bit of snow. Probably about 4 to 5 inches so far.
Normally by this time of the winter season, we are around 20 to 30 inches. We are dry in Central Nebraska. Even this snow will not ease our near drought conditions.
I went out twice late yesterday with my trusty hand held blower...technically a leaf blower but it does work on snow up to about an inch or two if it is dry and powdery.
This is dry and powdery but still has moisture in it which we desperately need!
What is wild about this snow is that the cold that is with it.
Right now it is +5 degrees and tonight is supposed to be -11.
Definitely going to get chilly here with only 1 day above freezing in the next week.
This weather is definitely the "cold" kind of cold. No sun and a bit of wind.
Probably will pass on any fires and drinks on the patio and any meat on the barbecue!
We are headed back to Aurora, CO next Monday for meetings with Jaime's brain surgeon and his team to plan any future treatment.
At this point we are being told extremely positive news and we are praying that the optimism from the surgeon is still there next week.
Hopefully this time next week I can update you with some very positive news! Thank you all who have reached out or said a silent prayer. It works!
The weather is going to be cold but we hope the roads will be clear!
Until Next Time...stay warm my friends! m
