As we all know, eggs have skyrocketed in price, and now it is difficult to even find a dozen at the store!    If you want eggs for breakfast, you should have some oatmeal, toast or waffles.   I know my favorite is bacon and eggs, but will need to cut back from that!

Here are ways to replace an egg in baking -

Hope this helps!

I am seeing plenty of eggs...they seem to be at much higher prices but I can buy them. I only buy organic cage free, free range.

Hi Joan... so far, no shortage of eggs at my end... just expensive. This is good information even if I don't back! 😂🤣 Price of avocados is insane now, too!

Nina Hollander, Broker I found avocadoes for 88 cents each, but a dozen eggs were almost $10.   I can still afford them, but around here, they are difficult to find.

Joan Cox I've given up trying to figure the rhyme or reason behind some of these prices.

Joan Cox can't remember the last time I saw avocados for less than $2 a piece; eggs I can find at about $4.67/dozen.

Nina Hollander, Broker funny how things are so different between states.   Maybe the avocadoes are coming from CA or Mexico, so the shipping isn't as much?

We'll just stick to eggs.  So far so good in them being plentiful and none of that stuff seems cheaper than 1 egg.

Joan Cox  I have never been an egg eater; I only use them for cooking.  I like oatmeal or a bagel for breakfast. You have excellent substitutes, and I love them.

Hi Joan- Thank goodness we eat oatmeal for breakfast!  The last time I bought eggs was for baking at Christmas and they were high then. The price of our avocados goes up and down but today I think they were 78 cents. Thanks for sharing this.

Hello Joan - like Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty, I can "find" eggs while grocery shopping.  Not putting them in my shopping cart has become a part of my routine.  At least for now.  I have heard of limits placed by some retailers - will I see eggs priced individually any time soon.

Joan, Thanks for these ideas.  Very helpful.  We are lucky to have many food stores near us and it is amazing the price differences on eggs.  All do have a limit on the amount you can purchase, 2 dozen usually.

Beautiful egg and saucer.

Thank you for sharing Joan Cox   I used to eat three eggs for breakfast every single day.  Now I am down to 2 eggs 3 times a week until the prices come back down.  I love your chart and have used the applesauce version of replacement for years. m
