Today was a day that called out for heating up the kitchen with the smell of something warm, sweet and yummy.
We received 3 plus inches of snow last night here in Delaware County, so after shoveling and clearing off the vehicles, and stocking up the bird feeders it was time to procrastinate from work and make some cookies.
I have not used this recipe in years. It is a recipe I got from one of my mother’s cookbooks when I was a teenager.
OATMEAT DROP COOKIES
Pre-heat oven 400 Degrees
Ingredients
1 ½ cup flour
1 ¾ cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup (2 sticks) melted butter
2 eggs
½ cup milk
Mix all the dry stuff together.
Make a well in the middle and add the wet stuff.
Mix.
Drop teaspoonful onto ungreased baking sheet, 1 ½ inch space between.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
Makes roughly 72 cookies.
Enjoy!
