Shared Ownership

You are correct in that when the kids move out (usually at a much older age now), they are moving together with others to help defray their costs or they're house hacking it seems.

I have sold more generational homes since covid.  Grandma being in the home means you don't have to have full time day care, mom means you get good meals or another income to support the household.  Where people think outside the box, more things can come together.

This seems a good idea to overcome the higher prices and costs of homeownership.
