Total Trust

By

I once had a dog who could/would not catch a treat thrown to him. My friends thought it very odd. I explained that he didn't know if I was tossing him something good or not... Just like the guinea pig (Philemon) above. The dog below looks ready to snarf up the treat as soon as the master lets loose of it.

Real Estate Point: It you have total trust in your Real Estate representative it's okay to jump on his/her advice. However it is equally okay to ask questions of your agent. The same holds true of other Real Estate related professionals like financers, home inspectors, and contractors. If you are not satisfied with the answers, before you jump ship, ask for a second opinion and if necessary even a third.

It's (nearly) never a good idea to burn bridges. What if the second opinion confirms the first? Don't you owe loyalty to the first professional who told you the truth even if you didn't want to hear it? Appreciate honesty, don't punish it by jumping ship.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .

Exactly Michael Jacobs . That is why many agents here say they live on referals. They built trust into their practice.

Good morning Bob. If they do not trust me they are free to move on with my encouragement. I will use my time working with others who do. My time is worth money so wasting time is costly. Enjoy your day.

Trust is usually built over time and often transaction after transaction. It's pretty rare someone would walk in the door and say "Bob I just walked in the door and I trust you completely" Wayne Martin .

Yes, trust in a real estate professional is a great thing, and asking questions is still okay!

Yup, that is where I am coming from Kat Palmiotti . Trust is usually built after the questions are asked satisfactorily.

That is kind of a bummer that they don't have total trust that Joe will feed them properly, haha.

Nina Hollander, Broker in general Baby is as well but sometimes I question her catching abilities. That being said she will bark at something she sees 400' away.

It is a good practice to ask if they have questions, especially before they get that gaze in their eyes of information overload Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho 🙂.

Thank you Lew Corcoran . An agent who gets upset over being asked questions should find another vocation.

Hi Bob,

Trust and respect are precious gifts, easily lost but difficult to regain. As we navigate through life, we encounter many different people and experiences that shape who we are.

Some encounters may leave a lasting impact on us, while others pass by without much thought. However, in retrospect, the small moments and interactions often hold the most significance. Let's spread this meaningful word!

Good evening Bob,

I like to encourage questions, its part of building the relationship process. Sometimes there are those that think they understand real estate and know best..I don't like to waster time on these buyers or sellers. I can be a no win situation.

Me too Dorie Dillard Austin TX . Clients questions can save a lot of time and fend off misunderstandings.
