I once had a dog who could/would not catch a treat thrown to him. My friends thought it very odd. I explained that he didn't know if I was tossing him something good or not... Just like the guinea pig (Philemon) above. The dog below looks ready to snarf up the treat as soon as the master lets loose of it.
Real Estate Point: It you have total trust in your Real Estate representative it's okay to jump on his/her advice. However it is equally okay to ask questions of your agent. The same holds true of other Real Estate related professionals like financers, home inspectors, and contractors. If you are not satisfied with the answers, before you jump ship, ask for a second opinion and if necessary even a third.
It's (nearly) never a good idea to burn bridges. What if the second opinion confirms the first? Don't you owe loyalty to the first professional who told you the truth even if you didn't want to hear it? Appreciate honesty, don't punish it by jumping ship.
