Whilst first time buyers are struggling to get the funds to even put down a deposit, insanely rich (and quite good looking IMHO) Roman Abramovich has gone and bought his latest piece of real estate. One of those expensive London Hyde Park properties that fetch a few million? Err no. Try a £250,000,000 property over in France. In American terms we're talking around $494,140,392!!!
‘La Leopolda’ is the name of the ten acre estate and previous owners include billionaire banker Edmond Safra and that chap from Microsoft, Bill Gates. Apparently the place is extremely high maintenance, but you’d kind of expect that wouldn’t you? It’s hardly going to be decked out in Ikea furniture. I haven’t found any internal pics, but there’s an aerial one here.
I have to stress that Abramovich’s people haven’t confirmed the sale yet, but let’s face it if the man wants this place he can afford it. When you’re worth an estimated $22 billion, you can pretty much do what you like.
