Good morning and thank you, Roy. I update school rankings every year... it's always interesting to me to see how they change from year to year.

Good morning Nina. When it comes to school ratings I am always suspect. The quality of education is dependent on the teachers in the classroom with the students and how the student relates to the teacher. The rating may be an indication of past performance at best. That said these ratings are a start to real research. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin I get your point, Wayne. The schools on this particular list belong there based on state testing. These are updated every year so the numbers are not stale. And these are typically the schools parents are always asking me for.

Hi Nina,
I'm blown away by how many schools are in the Charlotte area. We have one high school in Wenatchee and one in East Wenatchee, two different municipalities, and different counties but only separated by a river and a few miles. Between the two, Wenatchee is ranked higher.

Wow. That is mind-boggling to me.

Carol Williams good morning, Carol... and this list is just the tip of the iceberg. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system alone has some 187 schools, almost 150,000 students. CMS is actually the 18th largest school system in the USA, which is something considering that Mecklenburg County still has under 1.2 million residents. And all this does not include big counties that are adjacent and part of the Charlotte region like York and Lancaster Counties in SC and Union, Cabarrus, Iredell Counties in NC.

I am sure that students at these schools are proud of themselves and their parents are likely very pleased that their kids get to attend such great schools!

Good morning Nina,

I'm sure your followers look forward to seeing your updated school ratings every year! I agree with Wayne Martin these ratings are a start to real research for residents and those looking to move there.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX good morning, Dorie... the schools on this top 20 list are well known to be the top public high schools in the region. What mostly changes from year to year is their ranking on the list. Ardrey Kell High School in Ballantyne and Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw seem to trade the #1 spot each year.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila... for people with school age children, the school ratings are hugely important and they will typically pay a premium to own a house that feeds into these schools.

I am often a bit skeptical on how the ranking are done (diversity is one of the categories in great schools...not sure how that makes teaching good or bad), I think it gives us a way to look at things like SAT Scores, number of free lunches, economic breakdown and more.

Feb 28, 2025 07:39 AM
Nina Hollander, Broker

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty hi Jeff... no one in the Charlotte area argues about these schools being top-ranked because they are... based on state school testing, reading and math proficiency, graduation rates, etc.
