Destin Florida Living-The Start Of Tourist Season
As February turns to March, here in Destin Florida we mark the start of tourist season. With a late Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) we are noticing an early season. Here are some tips for getting the most out of your time on the Emerald Coast...
1) Plan your trip-- Time goes by FAST on the Emerald Coast. A Saturday afternoon checkin will quickly turn into a following Saturday departure. Make a list of key places you want to visit or activities.
2) Pencil In AT LEAST one do nothing but play on the beach day-- You will thank me, leave your watch in the condo! I have friends that will park their van on arrival and not leave again until checkout.
3) Watch the weather-- Complete rain out days are rare. But if the sun is out you want to be in the water or on the beach. Make the iffy weather days time to do indoor stuff.
4) Merge your activities-- Peak season Destin Florida traffic is a thing. Go to The Commons and then hit the restaurant while you are out. Why fight traffic for two separate trips.
5) Adjust your eating schedule-- Insist on supper at 7pm? Expect to wait, sometimes for a while. Even during July peak a 2pm meal normally happens wait free! Just make it a late (and heavy) lunch then keep snacks in the condo.
6) Don't get in a hurry-- Unless you have movie tickets or a tee-time just let the day happen at its own pace.
