Connecting Housing Policy To Project 2025

The playbook candidate Trump insisted he'd never seen is responsible for more than half of his actions in the first 30 days of his presidency. Or, is it really Russell Vought's presidency?

Vought is the Christian Nationalist 'architect' of Project 2025 and Heritage Foundation bestie, currently functioning as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, an office he sees as an overseer of the entire government, which he thinks, in large part, should be dismantled.

In wreaking havoc upon bureaus and agencies, decimating workforce and illegally ceasing operations and funding, Vought is endeavoring to bring to fruition his Project 2025 mandates--no matter who they harm.

Vought famously said during an event at his radical thinktank 'Center for Renewing America': "We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work, because they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down … We want to put them in trauma.”

As the GOP representatives who voted for this are learning from their constituents,  Federal workers are certainly traumatized, but they're not being viewed as the villains. That label belongs to Vought and his hatchet man, Chief Opportunist Elon Musk.

At a time when America's housing market is already challenged, Vought and the Trump administration have chosen to attack the very agencies that hold it together.

Thirty days in, they've taken actions against key agencies and implemented housing-related policies aligned with mandates in Project 2025.

From shuttering agencies and firing workforce, suspending grants and assistance to freezing housing program funds and delaying changes to existing programs, Bessent, Vought, Trump and Musk have attempted to eliminate affordable housing and the agencies that support it.
