Playing is part of human beings along with God’s numerous other creatures. After reading this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, I was captured in deep thought.
It is a happy talent to know how to play.
From my experience, as an executive leadership consultant and sales coach, I know that well over 95% of those I worked with did not know their best talents. Instead, these same individuals recognized with the same percentage their not so good talents.
No wonder these individuals were unhappy (not satisfied) with their professional and personal outcomes.
Winning teams (think real estate brokerages) know how to play and consequently often win because the players (think real estate agents) know their talents and are happy with their talents. Of course, we may not always see their happiness.
The questions to be asked are:
“What happy talents do you have?”
“Does your happy talent know how to play?”
“When was the last time happy talent played?”
“How can you increase your happy talents?”
