SPRINGSONG MUSEUM

Thursday, March 6, at 2 p.m., Clubhouse I Crystal Ballroom

Rebecca Henson, founder and executive director of the upcoming Springsong Museum, presents a discussion on Rachel Carson, the influential writer and biologist who helped shape the modern environmental movement. Free, but registration is required by calling or visiting the Lifestyle office in either clubhouse.

Beginning Friday, March 7, from 7-8 a.m., Golf Course Cart Path

This powerful film tells the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the all-Black, all-female U.S. Army unit that played a crucial role in World War II, overcoming racism and adversity to ensure soldiers received their mail.. My Active Senior, in partnership with Montgomery County, hosts a rescheduled breast cancer awareness discussion featuring a two-time breast cancer survivor who will share nutritional tips, educational resources, and free gifts. This presentation aims to educate and support seniors affected by breast cancer. Free, but registration is required at the Lifestyle office in either clubhouse.

 

MOVIE: ‘IRISH WISH’

Friday, March. 14, at 1:30 p.m., Clubhouse II Auditorium

In this charming romantic comedy, a woman makes a spontaneous wish while attending a wedding in Ireland, only to find herself in an unexpected twist of fate that challenges her views on love and destiny. Pazit Aviv from Montgomery County Aging and Disability Services will discuss how this model fosters social connections and provides neighbor-to-neighbor support. Sponsored by the Center for Lifelong Learning. Free, but registration is required at the Lifestyle office in either clubhouse, beginning Tuesday, March 11, at 9 a.m. (Note: Rescheduled from Jan. 22.)

 

CELTIC BAND

Monday, March 17, at 7 p.m., Clubhouse II Auditorium

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Seán Heely Celtic Band. Enjoy powerful vocal harmonies, Scots Gaelic songs, ballads, sea shanties and more from the rich Celtic folk tradition. Tickets are $17 and available at the Lifestyle office in either clubhouse.

Hi Michael, I think I'd go for "The Irish Wish" movie if I were planning to see a movie.  I've been to Ireland and like their music so I'd probably enjoy this one.
