Meteorological Spring has arrived, for meteorologists and climatologists, that is. For the rest of us, we patiently await the warmer weather. Here in Northeastern coastal Massachusetts, the March weather varies. One day it's wintery, the next day could be 50° or 60° degrees F, then followed by snow. BUT one thing we look forward to, for sure, is Daylight Savings Time. We've been gaining about 1 minute of daylight every day since 21 December.
So, why am I sharing this?
BECAUSE this weekend on Sunday morning at 0200 (2 a.m.), we spring forward by 1 hour.
A few years ago, there was talk that the New England States would adopt Atlantic Standard Time. That never happened because the 6 states could not agree, and the deal was that all had to agree (I even think New York may have been part of that). The New England States are further east than the rest of the Atlantic Seaboard. By adopting AST, it would be like permanent DLS.
Now, President Trump wants us to all be on Arizona time. I remember we stradled the border of AZ & NV, making half of our body in one time zone & the other half an hour later.
So ALL that just to remind you to change your clocks Saturday night before you turn in. (Not AZ or Hawaii)
