Aspects of Curiosity
Spring Arrives as the Seasons
Satisfies and Shares a Sense of
Things To Come
Another AR Challenge Submission
The comedian, Steven Wright has been attributed with the saying, “Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while I was a suspect". Whenever I hear the quote, it still makes me laugh. Maybe it’s recalling Steven’s deadpan delivery or perhaps something else that is unexplainable, I don’t know. And that’s the thing about curiosity and what intrigues us. More specifically, me as I take another opportunity to explore this month’s ActiveRain challenge co-hosted by Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran.
Are you curious? I guess that might be one way to start this conversation on the subject but instead, I will first admit to being a curious kind of person. My curiosity from those I have known and been influenced in my past - parents and relatives of course, teachers as well as school mates and childhood acquaintances, in fact anyone who has made even the slightest impact or impression has shown me a certain interest in the subject. Observing people and their behavior is a non-stop education.
Being inquisitive. Quizzical too. Many sorts of descriptions might “work” as an expression I could reveal about myself as to identifying this trait.
If you agree you likely have a certain eagerness for knowledge. And in that way, I am like so many of us, always discovering more and different aspects of me. Not always outwardly and hopefully not in an annoying way but curious, nonetheless. About myself and how I “operate”. Others too but admittedly to a lesser degree. After all, I’m a rather long-term project where I continue to discover all sorts of things.
For many reasons, I like what I consider short walks for the explorations they reveal as well as journeys of a longer length where discoveries are unearthed. At the end as well as lessons learned along the way. Some of which are interrelated and connected through threads, passageways and in countless other ways that serve me. Now. And as time allows.
Today, as we welcome the arrival of another season even if it might not seem to be the kind of significant shift we may "think", there is a certain curiosity of things to come. Some anticipated, maybe even planned although surprises remain aplenty. And abundant in all sorts of ways. Another masterful comedian: Robin Williams has been associated with these words: Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party". I continue to be curious about the quote. And, in the meantime, grateful for that opportunity of its many meanings for me.
PS - no felines were harmed in the writing of this post. As for scaredy cats of many sorts, I am quite aware of their existence too. And yes, I remain curious of that as well. Thank you to those who continue to feed that inspiration and don't stray from that goal. I remain appreciative. Happy Spring!
