Corruption Grows In A Neglected Garden

Everything needs to be properly tended to and maintained, that includes close observation when backyard gardening. In some cases, a few weeds can hide in ignored areas, going undetected until they suddenly become a rooted stranglehold, choking off healthy plant material.

Even a dirt plot that has a balanced ecosystem can be attacked, changing the environment from healthy to weak, as corruption takes root. Pruning exposes noxious weeds, cutting back the opportunity of a hostile takeover. Active participation is necessary, no lazy standards allowed.

Transparency and accountability are strong barriers against invasive species, a culture of integrity builds strong systems. Weed control is serious business, preventing corruption by empowering fierce, garden friends like ladybugs and praying mantis within perimeter garden walls.

The same, diligent care needs to be applied to America by protecting all borders from those with nefarious intentions. Inside corruption comes in many forms, starting as a small transgression, then building until solicitous greed and padded payoffs become everyday habits.

As Americans, standing united for a better country is the biggest deterrent for those who wish to see the United States fail. Overall good must prevail or all efforts become futile and corruption wins.

Wanda, this is a very thought-provoking and metaphorical post. I appreciate the use of gardening as an analogy for addressing corruption. The imagery of weeds choking healthy plants is powerful and relatable. Your emphasis on maintenance, transparency, and accountability is clear. The connection to protecting America's borders and standing united is a strong message. I also like the personal touch of your disclaimer and the clear listing of your service areas. Overall, it's a unique and impactful piece.

America is still the best country in the world and would like it to stay that way, Dennis Neal. I love gardening, it feeds us well, so we take care of all aspects to ensure it comes to fruition!

Wanda- what a timely post. I spent two days recently pulling weeds from our beds and lawn. I'd never seen this many. I got ruthless and was determined to rid my lawn and flower bed of the weeds. They contribute nothing and are damaging our lawn and flower bed.

If you allow the weeds to grow with the thought that they're just plants too, you will sing a different tune when your whole yard is corrupted with weeds.

You understand that weeds and corrupt people aren't all that different.

We are diligent about weed control and take pride in how the property looks as you and Larry are as well. Mike is doing something special in the garden this year and I do hope it's as beautiful as planned, Kathy Streib. Will take lots of photos!

Allowing corruption in the garden, even on a small scale can destroy the harmonious nature within, just as it does in so many other areas of life.

Hello Wanda - intruders of many kinds "live" in the gardens we have.  Being and staying "aware" is part of the solution.  It isn't easy but necessary.

We can always tell who is involved in the corruption since they scream the loudest when it begins to become uncovered, haha.

Hi Wanda,
A well-tended garden thrives, but let a few weeds sneak in, and suddenly, it's a jungle out there! I see many similarities with what's going on in this country now. There's a new landscaper, armed with pruning shears, in the garden.

Precisely why gardeners need to make a sincere commitment to maintain the perimeter and pull the weeds by hand instead of shortcutting and spraying poison on everything. It kills the good and the bad by doing that, Carol Williams!
