A rainbow of colors awaits visitors at The Tulip Farm in Pilot Point, Texas. Spring has officially begun to bloom in Denton, County. Thursday, March 13, 2025, was the perfect day to pick, but then again, isn't every day when there are opportunities to pick Tulips a perfect day?

Color in landscape creates a mood but a vase or pitcher of Tulips to wake up to in the morning makes the day even brighter. As of now, the sun did not rise. But Tulips makes me feel happy. Joy to the world! Spring has sprung. For other parts of the country, I hope it won't be long.

No day, nor tulip can ever be taken for granted is what I was thinking.

What does it feel like to be walking through the Tulip groves at the Tulip Farm located in Pilot Point? Hmmm... To me it is like being in Paradise.

In this Tulip Farm Paradise, you can forget everything else. After all, I know not if I will pass this way again.

I wonder, where did Rembrandt's palettes of colors come from? Just how much inspiration does one person get in a lifetime to create such beauty? To paint or to plant? That is the question.

I am grateful for the colors of Tulips. Like people, they are all unique but the dirt they grow in is the same. Isn't that interesting? Walking on dirt among rows of Tulips produced energy from my feet up and like a stem that grows taller I kept peering over the Tulip groves in search of more and more colors.

The colors of the Tulips left favorable impressions in my mind. Nature brings us so much beauty. I made the decision not to wait another day. I had to get out there and I did! Life is about discovery. It always has been. The first challenge is, if you feel like you need to do something, and you are an able body, just do it! Life is too short, and you don't have to wait for someone else. If you can, you should tiptoe through the Tulips. It's a breath of fresh air and it's waiting for you!

Hello Patricia - while it's more likely that I will view nature from afar, I can see the appeal of sharing a tulip, picking a posey or sniffing a similar scent from the garden.  You were treated to quite the sensory experience in Pilot Point Texas.

Good morning, Michael Jacobs

Oh yes! I was immersed in sensory awareness! The color connection was strong and beautiful! It filled me up with simple pleasures. The Tulip Farm is so big, I didn't hear a sound from all the other people picking Tulips! Living life using five senses is exhilarating!

May your day be filled with sensory awareness in the best way.

Good morning, Patricia... I love, love, love tulips. And you've treated us to a virtual cornucopia of all the beautiful varieties of tulips. Now I have to go out and buy some... but not at a tulip farm... I'm not as lucky as you to have one nearby.

Nina Hollander, Broker - thanks to you, there is now a great big smile plastered on my face! I really appreciate your comment and you too!

The Koeman's moved to Texas from the Netherlands in 2015 and started their own Tulip Farm because they couldn't find any in other parts of Texas. Perhaps, they will start another one in Charlotte.

Yes, I feel lucky!!!

Those are beautiful and I know that my Mom would really enjoy them.  For her upcoming birthday, we are going to plant some rose bushes at her house!

Thanks.

Good morning Patricia. Spring may have sprung, the flowers they have riz, but here in Chicago we are still waiting. So all we can say is we are currently jealous of your opportunity and awaiting ours. Enjoy your flowers.

Wayne Martin - when Tulips grow, the wait will be worth it. I remember Iris plants seemed to follow. I had a Chicago neighbor who grew the most gorgeous array of both.

Soon, it will be your turn.

You would love the Keukenhof in the Netherlands, I got to spend a day there a few years ago and it was amazing, all the Dutch Tulip growers plant an area, creating pictures with their tulips as well as wonderful beds of color. And so many types as well. I planted some double headed tulips for last year and they are peeking through the soil now, we will have to wait longer for them to bloom. But I am looking forward to seeing the blooms at Longwood this year.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 - that must have been one of the most amazing sights you saw. The weather plays a role in how many, how lush, and healthy tulips grow. I'm going to have to take a trip to the Dallas Arboreum. Their gardens are one of the best in the world.

The picture you shared is breathtaking!

George Souto - between the Tulips, Daffodils, Iris, and many others, the wait is truly worth it! Soon! They'll be pushing through the earth when the time is right. Oh, you will be happy!

Lew Corcoran - The Tulip Farm in Pilot Point, TX is opened only once a year. And when the tulips are gone, the farm closes. I couldn't miss it. As long as I can stand on two feet and walk, I'll be there! It's my annual escape to a world that doesn't exist anywhere else near where I live.

Thank you for always finding the right words to say!

Oh my gosh Patricia- I am drooling over all of the photos of your tulips as well as the pictures in the comments. When we lived in Northern VA I planted all sorts of tulip bulbs and had so much fun seeing them peek out from the soil.

I love all flowers but tulips are among my favorites.

Kathy Streib - Oh, I know you would have loved it. I am so glad I went! I just checked their website, and they are already closed and won't reopen until next year!

I did not know you lived in Northern VA. Did you like living there? I have always been curious about VA and West VA too. Planting tulips is a fascinating hobby! There is such a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes! Tulips are a gift to the earth!!!

what a fantastic variety of tulips.  I remember when I worked downtown and the tulip library near the tidal basin would burst forth.  Then the next month the park service would arrive and pull all the bulbs out to plant something else.  They would give those bulbs away - but they were hard to replant with any success since I think most of them had been forced and forced bulbs never transplant easily for me

Lise Howe - If I put a smile on your face and stirred up memories of the tulip library, then it's a wonderful day!

At the Tulip Farm in Pilot Point they ask not to pull up the bulbs with the tulips. I did not know that "forced bulbs never transplant easily." That is good information to know.

I love tulips Patricia!  Every year at this time they are available to purchase - in a vase with bulbs not quite ready to burst open.  I've done this for years.  But this year it's hard to find them. I bought one but it wasn't nearly as beautiful as all the other years - by a long shot.  Maybe soon I'll find more!

Tulips are so strong and delicate. They really are a special treat. From what I heard from the owners at the Tulip Farm, it all depends on the weather and the picking season can be shorter if there is bad weather.

I hope you still get to buy some tulips.

Debra Leisek - I saw so many beautiful tulips. Walking through the rows was tougher than walking on sidewalks. But so worthwhile!

I am glad you were reminded of your Grandmother's backyard. Keep those happy memories alive!
